Group Assignment:  Read "Pedagogy of Poverty Versus Good Teaching" - Martin Haberman
Presentation: 5-8 min 

Begin to critically analyze the text (construct/build meaning). 
You are not summarizing the essay to present. 
Pick something specific within the article that you wish to discuss as a group.  
You have the autonomy of presenting anyway you want

Medium:
  • If you are using multi-media, please bring device to use in class that can be used with projector(ex. laptop computer)
  • If using power point, save in USB drive
  • If using YouTube, keep to minimal 
  • If handing out material, please make sufficient copies

Rubric:
  • Everyone must participate
  • I will be providing FEEDBACK for each individual group
  • ORIGINALITY of presentation will be taken into account
  • Looking for thoughtful ANALYSIS and interpretations of the TEXT (Article)   

ESSAY:
  • Due Next Class meeting
  • 3 pages /  You can split this up between group members
  • I don't want three seperate response papers
  • I want a unified paper / cohesive / organized essay
  • Construct meaning, use your writing experience, use discussions in class to guide your paper
  • Use academic related information that we have used in class if you want (Pedagogy/Metacognition//Standardized Testing/Rhetorical Reading)

  • READ MATERIAL and CONSTRUCT MEANING 
  • Tell me what you think the meaning is for each subsection
  • FYI: If you are not in a group, you were not assigned a section, therefor analyze the introduction in order to receive credit
